Terms of Use (ToU)

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use (ToU) define the rules for using the dating website (hereinafter "the Site"), accessible under the .mg domain.
The Site is designed to connect adults who wish to chat, exchange, and possibly meet a partner.

2. Scope of application

The Site is accessible to users worldwide.
Although the main domain is based in Madagascar (.mg), access is not limited to Malagasy residents.
Users from other countries can also use the Site in compliance with these ToU.

3. Conditions of access

• Use of the Site is strictly reserved for persons aged 18 years and above.
• By registering, the user confirms that they meet the age requirement and have read and accepted these ToU.
• Access to the Site is free. The business model may evolve (donations, advertisements), but no paid premium service will be introduced.

4. Account creation, suspension, and anonymization

Account creation- Upon registration, the user must provide accurate and up-to-date information.

Voluntary suspension- The user may temporarily suspend their account if they are reflecting or for any other personal reason.

• During suspension, the profile becomes invisible and cannot be viewed by other members.
• The user may lift the suspension at any time to reactivate their account.
• A suspended account remains subject to the rule of anonymization after 3 months of inactivity.

Automatic anonymization- After 3 months of inactivity, the account will be automatically anonymized to protect personal data (email, username, profile pictures, etc.).

• The user will be notified before any anonymization and may reactivate their account if desired.

Permanent deletion- The user may also request the permanent deletion of their account.

• This deletion works on two levels:
  • Soft deletion: data is kept for statistical purposes, but all sensitive information is anonymized, making it impossible to identify the user.
  • Hard deletion: all private conversations and notifications linked to the user are permanently deleted.
    Contacts will simply see a neutral message stating that "this account is no longer active".

5. User-generated content

Profile photos- Photos must be authentic and representative of the person.

• Retouching is allowed only minimally and must not be misleading.
• Only the account holder should appear in the photo.
  • If other people appear, they must be blurred.
  • No unauthorized third-party faces should be visible.
• Photos on the Site are protected:
  • If they appear in search engines, they will automatically be blurred.
  • They will also include a protective watermark to prevent fraudulent reuse on other websites or social networks.

Testimonials- Spontaneous testimonials from members may be displayed publicly, provided they comply with these ToU.

6. Site features

The Site offers, among others:

• Like notifications.
• Profile visit notifications.
• Private real-time conversations.
• Availability in multiple languages (French, Malagasy, English, with more to come).
• Subscription and management of newsletters. Each feature will be accompanied by clear and accessible documentation to guide users.

7. Respect and behavior

Users agree to:

• Treat other members with kindness and respect.
• Not create fake profiles.
• Not publish offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, violent, or illegal content. Any violation may result in:
• Temporary suspension of the account.
• Permanent banning in case of fake profiles or seriously inappropriate behavior.

8. Personal data and privacy

• Users’ personal information is protected in accordance with applicable privacy standards.
• Sensitive data is never sold to third parties.
• Users may at any time request suspension, anonymization, or deletion of their account as detailed in Article 4.
• The Site applies enhanced security measures to protect users’ privacy.

9. Modification of the service

The Site reserves the right to evolve its features, business model (introduction of ads, donations, etc.), and ToU.
Users will be informed of any major changes.

10. Responsibilities

• The Site is not responsible for meetings or exchanges between members.
• Each user is solely responsible for their statements, actions, and behavior on the Site.
• In the event of a dispute between users, the Site may act as a mediator but cannot be held responsible for the outcome.

11. Acceptance of the ToU

By registering and using the Site, the user acknowledges having read, understood, and accepted these Terms of Use.
